The ABCM's Directors developed the Nation's first and only Board Certification Examination in Electrocardiography in 1969 for hospital EKG panel reading physicians, and currently provide the most comprehensive Cardiovascular Nursing and Cardiac Monitor Technician Board Certification Exams available to date, with 100% focus on clinical cardiology. EKG-ED and CVNE Instructor's Exams
Now Available:
January 1, 2012 the ABCM launched the
New EKG Instructor's Board
Certification Exams for Basic, 12-Lead, and/or Advanced EKG Training.
Earn and wear the distinction of achieving Board Certification Status as
an EKG-ED Instructor.
An EKG and CVNE Instructor's Clinic
for both of these exams is being planned for June, 2012 and will be
announced on this site under Cardiology Review and Prep Courses in the
left menu panel.
January 1, 2012 the ABCM launched the
New Cardiovascular Nurse Educators Exam.
Earn and wear the distinction of achieving the highest level of
cardiovascular nursing certification available anywhere with the CVNE
Board Certification Exams.
An EKG and CVNE Instructor's Clinic
for both of these exams is being planned for June, 2012 and will be
announced on this site under Cardiology Review and Prep Courses in the
left menu panel.
ABCM's Mission Statement:
The American Board of Cardiovascular Medicine’s mission is to provide evidence-based Board Certification Opportunities for Cardiovascular professionals working in Medical, Nursing, and Technical arenas; and the necessary educational preparation to assist cardiovascular professionals in accomplishing their Board Certification goals.
To accomplish our mission, the ABCM has formed a liaison with the Marriott Heart Foundation, “Home of the American College of Cardiovascular Nurses, and the Society of Cardiac Monitoring,” to develop targeted professional Prep Courses in Cardiology for the benefit of physicians, nurses, and technicians prior to sitting for their respective Cardiology Board Exams. Through our liaison, we are able to offer the various Cardiology Board Certification Exams at the end of each Course or Program offered.
In addition to the Board Certification Exams being available at all Courses and Programs, they are also available in most major cities by proctor, eliminating the need for travel. The Board Certification Exams are not computer based and therefore you will have a live proctor.
